Fingerbanger Friday: Sidenote
March 27th, 2009 |

When learning, you must know how to make the distinction between what is ideology and what is genuine knowledge. Its about content, not egos. Look vs. look at me.

Dan Decon (myspace) released Bromst (amazon) not all that long ago. I can write long and imputative about the album, being that it can’t be summed up in two or three ideas, though I’m not going to. I’m putting this song up to say… if this at all gets under your armor, then check out the rest. It’s got big ambition.

I got to know of Ty through a Ninja Tune mixtape (inter Big Dada), back when NT was just running shit. I always dug his delivery, reminds me of Roots Manuva, although maybe just b/c both are on the same label. Enter Ty’s modest lyrical concise flow. And press play.

Fingerbanger 2: Ty feat. Eska – Sophisticated & Coarse (don lowed)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Something new from the land of Def Jux just in time for your hedonistic summer imaginations, or if you just want a banging track to bump in your Jeep on the way to the wreck sessions in life.

Fingerbanger 3: Cool Calm Pete – Gitty Up Baby (don lowed)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

If you don’t have appreciation for the Violent Femmes album (not including Blister in the Sun), I’m probably not going to put much weight into your musical taste. Its not that I think I, or everyone should identify with the lyrics, but more that they should be understood as relevant (as opposed to metal or pop).

Fingerbanger 4: Violent Femmes – Kiss Off (don lowed)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

I’ve been steady bumping the last Woolfy (myspace) track I posted in Single Side Sweetness… and so I thought I’d push up this Woolfy Remix, just to let you know. So now you know. Woolfy. Amazon Them. Not to mention, I like The Tough Alliance. Double Bubble Gonzo Grape Goodness.

Fingerbanger 5: The Tough Alliance – Neo Violence (Woolfy Remix) (don lowed)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

I couldn’t get Louis CK last week, he was busy, so I’m doing it this week.
