This is as close as I’ve come to a full frontal IDGAF FbF in a long time. But this week I certify that these are the actual joints that have got inside me and ran my circle square the past few days. And as the NSA knows about my google-in’…these are all over the place. I should do this more often; 6 saltine cracker challenge your tatties against mine.

Cancel my foodstamps, I’m just going to eat the sexy meat that is Megan Washington’s voice. Personally, I think this beats the sad skinny knickers right off the James Blake version.

This is an example of the old school (vinyl only?) tracks that don’t seem to exist online that I’d really like to have. And Ian Pooley isn’t exactly an unknown ‘one off’ artist, the fact that I’m not able to dig this up (except this short mid-mixtape youtube rip which doesn’t do the song justice) is to me perplexing (and aggravating). Song comes in around the :10 mark…
I don’t really want to go on a vinyl buying binge just to rip a few songs, but I might have to. Evn Tho lord baby raptor jeebus knows I don’t need any more vinyl.

It was early 90’s and I was somewhere around 12 or 13 the first time I went to a rave. It was photocopy flyer midwest style event in a craigy old barn with a gas electric generator out back and probably $3 to get in. I had been skating all day and my ride home decided we we’re going to this thing. I remember on the drive there I was reading the flyer and it said no drugs / alcohol. At the party everyone had drugs and alcohol and I told my friends, they just laughed… and asked if I wanted some.
There are a lot of these early/mid 90’s house tracks that I just can’t find online. Vinyl only. Knowing the techno-geeks that ran these joints, I’m dumbfounded that they aren’t out there. Various quality (or lack thereof) files are whats up.

We are told “no,” we’re unimportant, we’re peripheral. “Get a degree, get a job, get a this, get a that.” And then you’re a player, you don’t want to even play in that game. You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that’s being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world. – Terence McKenna

Of the 37 ingredients in chicken nuggets, something like 30 are made, directly or indirectly, from corn.
Do you put dimethylpolysiloxane, an anti-foaming agent made of silicone, in your chicken dishes? How about tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ), a chemical preservative so deadly just five grams can kill you? These are just two of the ingredients in a McDonald’s Chicken McNugget. – Whats in fast food

Perhaps one of the most well known criminally slept on albums, Blowout Comb has only somewhat risen out of the shadow of Reachin’ in the more recent past. The cooler sounds and addition of live instrumentation made it an overall more sophisticated work than their more upbeat and successful debut… the message was however lost on the general masses, while the hip hop community hardly acknowledged it due to the previous commercial success.

Maybe someone has a good argument that proves me wrong, but I tend to have a problem when a new song liberally borrow recognizable parts from an old song IN THE SAME GENRE without credit. Putting different drums behind a liberal sample from a well establish artist’s song doesn’t mean you get to call it an entirely new song of your own creation. Does it?

I think I’d have an easier time tracking down the drug smuggling Carmen Sandiago and scoring scopolamine than i did getting a good version of this song. Here’s an example of how to give credit to the original song; it’s easy… you just make reference to the original in some way and maybe add a bit at the end. Remix, mix, fix, etc. So many options…

I might have to quit ‘The News’ for a while…again. It becomes overwhelming having to dissect agendized narratives, half truths, and outright lies packaged as facts and information just to end up feeling mentally and emotionally defeated on a daily basis. But I refuse to just pick a side because it’s easy. Unless that side is burning it all down and starting over.
