Is it bad luck comes in threes? Or just luck in general? Either way my string continues with # 2 as I ended up with a massive black-out concussion this week, so the majority of the week I hardly could move my head – let alone listen anything louder than a page of a book turn. That isn’t to say these songs aren’t good… just that I’m still on the red-eyed stupor tip, still braving the storm. Don’t hate. Where the fuck is Fuzzy? I owe him one.

The masses have never thirsted after truth. They turn aside from evidence that is not to their taste, preferring to deify error, if error seduces them. Whoever can supply them with illusions is easily their master; whoever attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victim. – The Crowd by Gustave Le Bon

One day, a farmer’s horse ran away. His neighbors expressed sympathy, “What terrible luck that you lost your horse!” The farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.”
A few days later, the horse returned, leading several wild horses. The neighbors shouted, “Your horse has returned, and brought more with him. What great fortune!” The farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.”
Later that week, the farmer’s son was trying to break one of the wild horses and got thrown to the ground, breaking his leg. The villagers cried, “Your son broke his leg, what a calamity!” The farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.”
A few weeks later, soldiers from the national army marched through town, drafting all the able-bodied young men for the army. They did not take the farmer’s son because of his broken leg. Friends shouted, “Your boy is spared, what tremendous luck!” To which the farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.”

Roni Size was almost like a moment in time more than a producer, with the way New Forms spread through aural consciousness and disrupted listening patterns. Of course jazzy breaks had been around, but the multiple genres and styled production really set it apart; Breaks, Drum & Bass, Jazz, Hiphop, Turntableism, and even Rock in an uplifting alchemy of sounds. Still some of the most crisp drums I can think of. This white label only remix came out a couple years back when Roni tried to recapitalize on the record.

Not the craziest video ever, but the one that makes me ache to ride the most. Even if my season is on hiatus for a week or so. The preview.
