Fingerbanger Friday is a game I play, because its for fun. I think I make that fairly obvious. Most of the things we do are for fun. We play and we make things fun to keep occupied and have a sense of purpose. Sometimes what we do becomes how we are identified, or how we identify ourselves. The games are not important but it becomes important for us to play them because without them we would have to redefine ourselves, we would have to take stock of where we are, compared to where we always felt we wanted to be (in a personal sense) and if they don’t match, its a challenge to take the personal responsibility for that. It takes clarity of a goal to walk into your fear and know you are going in the right direction. It takes an understanding of ourselves to be able to delineate between who we are and the things we do, have, or play. But, ff my whole world is filled with games, I would have no time to know myself. Stay True.

When I listen to this song I imagine I am set out for violent retribution, driving a ’84 Cutlass Station Wagon through the desert and this is on the radio. I won’t have to do much convincing, but its on the shortlist of my favorite songs of all time.

Fingerbanger 1: Animals – Gonna Send You Back To Walker

A driving heavy bassline and drums from a group that I can’t find shit for information on. Still a great song when you’re driving 90 mph with nothing in the mirrors.

Fingerbanger 2: Shona People Of Rhodesia – Taireva

I’m putting this out here out of respect for Ratatat. The new album LP3 has been described as more mature and “diverse”, and although it has it’s highlights, those highlights are much subdued in comparison to past material. I’m not getting that awe that I had with Classics, I mean Wildcat was the big easy… “rrraaawwwwrr” I’m thinking this could be cold weather material, maybe I just don’t ‘get it’ yet.

Fingerbanger 3: Ratatat – Flynn

Comeon summer…gimme heat! Stale, irritable, closterphobic heat… and then let me loose.

Fingerbanger 4: Al Brown – Aint No Love In The Heart Of The City

I was going to write that I feel like a sellout for posting this song, but that’s not right, because that just don’t make noooo sense. In reality, I feel pretty good about posting this… because it’s fun and because it makes me think of the old batman theme song. Mic Terror do fukkn get silly.

M.I.A. – Come Around (Remix ft. Mic Terror)
