I like getting emails from the Tru Thoughts guys, because it’s always legit. Not to mention they address me by name. When people send promos to Dj nodj, I’m deleting that shit. So I appreciate what they do, and I think they appreciate what I do, so I don’t mind promo ho-ing their stuff and all is good. Another thing that is good is Anchorsong.
Anchorsong, the solo project of Masaaki Yoshida, is a UK-based Japanese musician with a unique approach to live electronic performance. He creates instrumental electronic music using a sampler and keyboard right there on stage in real-time, favouring the immediacy and theatricality of this approach over using pre-recorded melodies or mixing other people’s records. (straight jacked copy, I’m busy here)
Tonic: Anchorsong – Plum Rain (don lowed)

‘Ghost Touch’/’Plum Rain’, out on 24th October, is the new digital single by the hotly tipped Japanese multi-instrumentalist and producer Anchorsong, on Tru Thoughts. This double A-side provides a taste of the captivating debut album, ‘Chapters’, which follows in November. BBC Radio 1’s new music guru Huw Stephens, who has heartily championed Anchorsong since seeing him at SXSW in 2009, recently gave ‘Ghost Touch’ its first Radio 1 play alongside an announcement of the record deal, fuelling anticipation for this new material.
The B side to this single is Plum Rain which is released today as a free download here :http://www.tru-thoughts.co.uk/news/free-anchorsong-track
