Finger Banger Friday

Feck. I’m cutting this one close… Fuzzy Cogitator has been in my ear all day and I’ve lost all sense of right and wrong. This is not a good time to trump the negative space theory. I will however expend notions of late night hyper ambivalence and on a completely unrelated point, I’m looking forward to all forms of hand rubs.

Jay Dilla this, JD that. My favorite work he did was with De La Soul on Stakes is High, which also holds top honors in my most listened to album of all time. But this isn’t about that. I’m talking, Slum Village. Fantastic was a good album when it came out. It became a better album as we all realized that it was as good as SV was going to get, and as we went back to take a second listen, we understood that there is beauty in the unpolished lazy style of it. I bought the singles on vinyl…strictly for the instrumentals. most love.

Fingerbanger 1: Slum Village – Players Instrumental

I could wage some overly critical or completely gushy form of embellishment of love and hate on Atmosphere. I would make sane and also completely irrational points. I think thats why Slug still gets our attention… we can’t help but like his music, and also hate that everyone else seems to like it too. (I guess some people see that as validation, however, I just see it as a shame). Still… love and hate aside. He’s still irreverent enough for me. Good stuff.

Idk. This song is just funny in the same way that the word cunnilingus is funny.

Fingerbanger 3: Aim & Stephen Jones – Good Disease
