I think that inside of each and every one of us, is the hope and desire that in our lifetime we will make an impact on something that we care about. That drives us to search for meaning, our meaning, of life. So that our purpose as we define it, our legacy, even if small, is something that we are proud to be recognized for.

Matt and Kim have been making a pretty decent impact on the East Coast West Coast, and probably some of the middle too (thanks to the internet for getting information horizontal). Feck, the internet is great in that way. Disrupting the gatekeepers flow of information. A new grand experiment (bureaucratic printing press operators need not apply).  Record companies couldn’t have invented a better promotion tool than the blog… and well iheartcomix gets that. Most of the upcoming artists have started their publicity fire on blogs. Myspace those kats here. I got up this morning and said to no one in particular, “today might be the day to start a revolution.” (since no one heard it, I don’t think it’s necessary to capitalize the “t” in today.) Then I put on the new Knux (Krispy Kream and Rah Al Million) album (Remind Me In 3 Days) and started plotting in Sttttyyyyyle. I come from one of the most musically discriminating crews out there, and so I have to be careful were I throw my praise (especially in hiphop, it’s hard around these guys with crates DDeep from radio station thuggery). But… The Knux… I’m saying… some of the best sounds I’ve heard in a minute (even if they are going major). Listen to more/buy here…Amazon.

Egadz! from the Bay Area where Tech 1200’s and MPC’s come standard in 4 out of 5 bedrooms. I don’t know if that last statement is 100% accurate. But I assume it must be since they are continually blasting out some most hot experimental/hiphop/electro music out there. Egadz! is not only a  MPC/MPD button pusher with talent, but his production kills with hard drums and dark sounds that is reminiscent of early DJ Shadow, Jel, Blockhead, Alias etc. Changing Faces is from his Shining Hours LP, you can buy that release and others on his myspace here.
