“Stare. It is the way to educate your eye, and more. Stare, pry, listen, and eavesdrop. Die knowing something. You are not here long.” – Walker Evans
Fingerbanger 1: Emika – 3 Hours (don lowed)
What matters is not whether we live alone, but whether we feel alone. There’s ample support for this conclusion outside the laboratory. As divorced or separated people often say, there’s nothing lonelier than living with the wrong person. – I want to be alone: the rise and rise of solo living
Fingerbanger 2: Mint Julep – I Never Wanted You (Headphones Cover) (don lowed)
It’s hard, but I’m going to forgive the “double dutch bus” honks in the intro of this song, because the rest of it fits like a well wore henley.
Fingerbanger 3: Xinobi – Hawaii (Original Mix) (don lowed)
Need of the week: Recorded in 1973 and released just as Brazil’s military dictatorship reached the climax of its long black arc, the one and only album by Satwa is a divinely subtle protest. Often cited as Brazil’s first independent record, the predominant sound of the disc is a northeastern folk / Eastern result of mixing of the zither played by popular Lula, and viola strings of 12 Lailson. Something like a succession of ragas and mantras, performed by Blind Aderaldo powered incense, mushrooms and other “mental muscle expanders”. Recent reissue by Mr.Bongo.
Fingerbanger 4: Lula Cortes & Lailson – Alegro Piradíssimo (don lowed)
Fingerbanger 5: Chappo – Bodies Coasting (don lowed)
