There is an platitude expression that goes, “The mind is a great servant, but a terrible master.” There is a yogi exercise that is “being mindful of every moment”. Although at first impression, these don’t seem to be saying the same thing, I believe in fact that they are close. The overlapping of these ideas in my mind is this; Take control of your thoughts, get off autopilot. Auto pilot is the banal reactions and lazy observations, the rote routine of self. Auto pilot is where we let ourselves be controlled by what we think is “just who I am”, and we stop engaging in our thoughts, actions, feelings and creation of them. I realize this doesn’t apply to anyone reading this, but maybe to everyone else, or maybe just me… I guess those sayings were probably just waiting for me to find them, for a long time. So be it.
This song is magnufficent!

I couldn’t find anything on the Birds and Batteries website that said what the hell Birds and Batteries means, so maybe it’s like an AC/DC sort of thing. But regardless of the name, I was still caught in their hatchetting / pulsating synths and syncopated singing, to the point that I started to wonder how something so dirty, can come out of an era of cleanliness.

Despite the airhorn…. or possibly just becasue of the airhorn… I’m posting this absolute block stomper. If I ever go to battle american style (that is to say, head to head without tact or understanding), I will certainly adorn battle paint and Dub Fi Dub with my boots laced high. Seriously, in all honesty, I want to see someone dance to this. HavocNdeed making their second FBF appearance. Facebook em, tweet that shit, and Buy more.

“Oh, she says well, you’re not a poor man. You know, why don’t you go online and buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet? And so I pretend not to hear her. And go out to get an envelope because I’m going to have a hell of a good time in the process of buying one envelope. I meet a lot of people. And see some great looking babes. And a fire engine goes by. And I give them the thumbs up. And, and I ask a woman what kind of dog that is. And, and I don’t know. The moral of the story is, is we’re here on Earth to fart around. And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And, what the computer people don’t realize, or they don’t care, is we’re dancing animals. You know, we love to move around. And, we’re not supposed to dance at all anymore.” – Kurt Vonnegut
