But with the good comes the flip side of good… the pressure to continue to be good.  Some of yall may actually read what i write, and you may have gathered that I’m at times a philosophical if not introspective kid… in some obvious, and sometimes obscure ways. No matter really, I know that often times I ponder on topics that seem obvious, or middle school. And for all those that have everything figured out… cool. But for me, changing how I see things is how I change what I see. How profound huh… or not so much.

This is one of my favorite songs this week. It fits well with the white coated tundra that absorbs all of our heat and keeps us from getting out of bed without first trying to put on a full set of clothes while still under the covers. The Darkness was the first band that I recall blowing up big with the throwback style… now it’s all what everything that was old is the new new. In my mind, the general acceptance of personal expression in music is the real benefit to the whole new new. Kanye’s new cd is minimal and emotional. From a Rapper? WTF? Kids are dancing again… even the straight ones. WTF? Music and art is once again colliding into real expressionism… The Fresh Prince maybe cooler than James Dean, and Freddie Mercury could be ‘one of the guys’, and Benzito has a Rubix Cube on his coffee table. With all this experimenting, really anything and everything is  “in Bounds”… Could this be one of those zeitgeist years for music? (think ’93 for hiphop) Or was it last year? Or next year? What will the music nerds of the future look back and remember us by? WhoMadeWho cover Benassi’s club track Satisfaction, and it’s all cool to me.

Oh… I just mentioned hiphop ’93…and uh… fuck, here it is. IF ‘m not mistaken, Soul Flower was the first song Pharcyde ever did together, and it was for The Brand New Heavies. The Dogs Bollocks Remix is the version I usually play when I’m Dj’n. This never really gets old in my book.
