It wasn’t that Carpal Tunnel Syndrome was bad, it just wasn’t complete. And when you have maybe $25 bucks to your name, and you give $15 of it away on a (well packaged) CD… best believe you try to convince yourself it was somehow worth it. I certainly wasn’t ebaying a copy of scratchcratchratchatch for a hideous amount of money. But eventually I was able to napster Side A of that shit on a dial 56K, I think it took 2 weeks to download… but you could preview it as it downloaded so every day I could listen to like 1 more minute of it. I should dig it out because to me it was everything CTS wasn’t. Fenderbender was, and still is, the highlight here.

Before it became the Buckingham & Nicks show, Fleetwood Mac was a revolving cast of blues musicians originally picked and lead by ( many argue, one of the G.O.A.T. guitarist) Peter Green. Initially called Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac they enjoyed a fair amount of success before Green exited the band due to his extensive drug use.

The Catch-22 is that, just to the extent that Nature has succeeded in putting consciousness beyond the reach of rational explanation, she must have undermined the very possibility of showing that this is what she’s done.

“The vocal track on the original 12″ version features an audible scream during the song’s intro. Vocalist Bernard Sumner has since explained that the scream was from him due to fellow bandmates thrusting a snowball down his shirt during recording.”

The two tracks were recorded as 12″ long versions and later edited to 7″ by engineer Peter Woolliscroft using one of the first Sony PCM 1610 Digital editing systems available in UK. The 7″ version is a more structured version with a commercial synthpop feel; the 12″ is more chaotic with the emphasis on electronic rhythms rather than melody.
